Lesser Slave Lake
Lesser Slave Lake is one of Alberta's largest recreational lakes providing good fishing and swimming opportunities. Lake drains into the Athabasca River Basin and covers 1160 square kilometres (447.9 square miles). The towns of Slave Lake and High Prairie are located in the area.

Devonshire Beach
Devonshire Beach is five minutes north of Slave Lake, offering a stretch of white sand beaches and good swimming. The beach hosts an annual sand sculpture contest in the summer.

Gilwood Golf and Country Club
Visitors to Slave Lake can make their way up north to the Gilwood Golf and Country Club, located in the Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park. This 9-hole course is well treed and offers a challenge with strategically placed water hazards and sand traps. Annual Songbird Festival
Held at the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation in Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park, the Songbird Festival offers educational activities for the entire family. Visitors can participate in workshops on everything from birding to alternative energy. Take a banding lab tours or guided hike, enjoy a pancake breakfast, and participate in a 5 km (3 mi) or 10 km (6 mi) walk/run on Sunday. Lots of free children's activities including face painting, building a bird house, and crafts. Come and celebrate spring migration in Slave Lake.

Riverboat Daze
JRiverboat Daze is an annual summer festival that includes a boat race and other activities including a parade, barbecue, pancake breakfast and more.

Alberta Open Sand Sculpture Championship
The Sand Sculpture Championship gives families the chance to spend time outdoors while participating in some friendly competition with fellow members of the community. Special prizes are awarded in the children's and family categories; while in the open category cash prizes are up for grabs. The day features a range of fun activities and entertainment suitable for the entire family.
